New York State Home Care Providers Honor Outstanding Caregivers

Albany, NY— During National Home Care and Hospice Month and in honor of Home Care Aide Week,  home care agencies across New York give special recognition to those caregivers who are outstanding examples of compassion and deliver exceptional, high quality home care services to thousands of New Yorkers each day.

This November, over 60 outstanding caregivers were honored for their dedication and tireless efforts in providing exceptional home care to those in their community through the New York State Association of Health Care Provider’s (HCP) 2017 Class of Heroes in the Home™ Statewide caregiver recognition program.

“Caregivers are the heart of home care,” said Claudia Hammar, President of HCP. “Caregivers go into homes every day to provide care, assistance, and support so that people can remain safe and comfortable at home. But they do so much more than that. They are often a patient’s only connection to the outside world and the highlight of their day. Caregivers often develop a bond with patients that goes beyond the physical – they touch people’s hearts and minds – and that is the added dimension that that cannot be measured.  And that’s what makes caregivers so special.”

Founded in 1974, HCP is a home care trade association representing home and community-based care providers across New York State through advocacy, information and education. HCP’s Provider members include approximately 350 offices of Licensed Home Care Service Agencies (LHCSAs), Certified Home Health Agencies, Hospices (CHHAs), and health related organizations (HROs).
