Claudia Hammar, President
Claudia Hammar was appointed Interim President on January 1, 2015 and President on May 1, 2015. She has over 35 years of experience in strategic marketing, business development and communications in associations, high technology companies and advertising agencies. She joined HCP in 2007 and became Senior Vice President in 2010. As part of HCP’s Senior Management team, Claudia has played a key leadership role in the Association over the past several years. She has been specifically responsible for driving strategic marketing initiatives for the Association, providing critical support for all Public Policy initiatives, and driving all revenue generation activities that support HCP and its affiliates.
During her career, Claudia has led teams for global and regional organizations including Visa, McDonald's, Cambridge Technology Partners, MapInfo Corporation, Key Bank, Grand Union, and Freihofer’s Baking Company, among others. Her work in advertising and marketing campaigns, collateral materials, and magazines has received numerous state and national awards She has a proven track record developing successful marketing and public relations strategies and tactics that drive bottom line growth. Claudia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Skidmore College.
Laura Haight, Vice President for Public Policy
Laura Haight leads the Association's Public Policy Division and is responsible for legislative and regulatory advocacy and strategies, development of grassroots campaigns and other related policy activities. Laura has over 20 years of New York State government experience, including as Senior Environmental Associate at the New York Public Interest Research Group, where she directed environmental protection and clean energy programs, developed legislative, regulatory and advocacy strategies and provided details analyses of budget and legislative priorities.
Laura holds a Master of Science in Environmental Studies from Bard Graduate School of Environmental Studies, and graduated magna cume laude from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in American History and Literature.
