HCP President Claudia Hammar Issues Statement on House Passage of the American Health Care Act (AHCA)

Following passage of the American Health Care Act (AHCA) by the U.S. House of Representatives yesterday, HCP President Claudia Hammar issued the following statement:

The legislation passed today by House Republicans to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA) would drastically reduce Federal Medicaid and Medicare assistance for hundreds of thousands of elderly, disabled, and chronically-ill New Yorkers. Recent changes made to the bill failed to address any of the serious concerns raised by home care agencies and other health care providers. HCP strongly urges the U.S. Senate to reject this bill, which would have devastating impacts on New York's most vulnerable citizens.
